The Leibniz Preis is awarded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and is the scientific award endowed with the highest price money worldwide - 2.5 million Euros. This funding is meant to support outstanding researchers in the strategic shaping of their scientific work environment. Martin Zirnbauer receives the price for groundbreaking contributions to theoretical condensed matter physics and mathematical physics.
